Joyce Edith (Creed) Chapman Memorial services for Joyce Edith (Creed) Chapman, age 93, will be 2:00 pm Saturday March 14, 2009 at St. James Episcopal Church 131 North State Street Painesville. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the All Saints Church, Springhill. Born November 22, 1915 in Folkstone, England. Passed away: March 6, 2009 at Briar Hill Health Care in Middlefield She was a resident of Chardon and formerly of Painesville A Canadian Citizen; Mrs. Chapman served in the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War II, retiring after 20 years of service. She later retired after 25 years as a sales clerk for the former Carlisle-Allen Department Store in Painesville Mrs. Chapman attended Many Canadian Air Force reunions An active member of St. James Episcopal Church, she enjoyed baking “specialties” for her many family members and friends her whole life. While at Liberty Assisted living, she enjoyed being a member of the bell choir and frequently played bingo and kings in the corner card games Survived by Brother; Ernest Ross Creed of Ottawa, Sister Margaret Horvath Watson of Tubac, Arizona; Nieces Betsy Horvath Skolaris of Chardon, Joyce Horvath of Sante Fe, New Mexico, Marlene Creed Quirk of Canada; Nephews Frank Creed of Canada, Edward Creed of Canada. Preceded in death by Parents Frank and Alice Jessie (Beaton) Creed; Brother; Frank C. Creed. No calling hours will be observed Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Memorial fund of the St. James Episcopal Church.
