Winston Churchill Herrett of Kersley, B.C., passed away in the Prince George Hospital, Prince George, B.C., on Sept. 7, 2008, at the age of 67 years. Born in Windham Hill, N.S., on August 20, 1941, the son of the late Murray and Edith( Purdy) Herrett, he moved to Kersley in 1959. He was employed in the forest industry for most of his life, until ill health forced an early retirement. He enjoyed gardening, wood working and spending time with family and friends. Winston is survived by his wife of 44 years, Carol (Smith), two sons; Charles “Chuck” (Kim)?of Kersley, and Kevin of Kelowna, B.C.; also one grandson, Brodie, and two step-daughters, Kaylee and RRikki. He is also survived by brothers O’Dare, McLeese lake, B.C.; Clyde, Bill (Marian), Quesnel, B.C.; sisters Sheila Mattinson, Kersley, B.C.; Nova Scotia brothers Harry (Jean), Springhill, Ron (Femmie), Philip, Windam Hill; sisters Elizabeth Martin, Springhill, Barbara (Ralph)?Stevens, Williamsdale, Dea (Darrel Carty), Amherst; brothers in law Clyde Smith, George Smith, Ronald Smith and Robert Smith. Predeceased by sisters Ruby Ripley, Vancouver, and Rhea Farrell, Springhill; sisters-in-law Gladys Herrt, Quesnel, B.C., Betty Herrett, McLeese Lake, B.C;.; brothers-in-law Ralph Martin and Herb Farrell, both of Springhill. Grandparents Hicks and Cordelia (Fillmore) Herrett and Valentine and Lena (Taylor) Purdy. Cremation has taken. A celebration of life was held in the Kersley Elementary School gym on Saturday, September 13, 2008.
