The death of Donna Irene (nee Smith) Blakney, 61, of Sackville, occurred on Thursday, December 4, 2008. Born in Sackville, she was the daughter of Laurie and Irene Smith. Donna was an active member of the Wood Point Baptist Church, The Women’s Missionary Fellowship and The Sackville Memorial Hospital Auxilliary. She was a loving daughter that always looked out for her mom and dad. She will be sadly missed by her husband, James; parents, Laurie and Irene Smith of Wood Point; one son, Justin (Angela) of Sackville; one brother, Ron (Janet) Smith, Riverview; two step-sons, Lorne (Lise) Blakney of Wood Point, Lee (Melinda) Blakney of Florenceville; one step-daughter, Ruth Ann (Robert) Meunier of Saint John; many step-grandchildren, step great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Donna was predeceased by her first husband Paul. Donna’s remains were entrusted into the care and supervision of Jones Funeral Home, Sackville (364-1300). Her family received visitors at the funeral home on Friday, December 5, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service was held at 3 p.m. from the Main Street Baptist Church, Sackville on Saturday, December 6, 2008.
