Gananoque, Ont. – The death of Charles William ‘Bill’ Chitty occurred at his residence on Saturday Feb. 16, 2008. He was the beloved husband of Margaret Gordon. Loving father of Karen Wand (Sam), Philip and his wife Joanne, Robert and his wife Louise, and Heather Chitty and her partner Greg. Dear grandfather of Philip (Lisa), Christopher (Blythe) and Harrison. Dearest great-grandfather to Cohen. Survived by two sisters, Nancy Hallam and her husband Don and Daphne Hother. Predeceased by two brothers, David and Donald and three sisters, Peggy, Pamela and Barbara. Also predeceased by son-in-law Rick Wand. Bill is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was a veteran of the 14th Field Regiment during the Second World War. A memorial service was held at the Tompkins Funeral Home in Gananoque on Thursday Feb. 21. Interment will be held in Willowbank Cemetery at a later date.
