Harley Woodford Stephens

Sackville, N.B. - The death of Harley Woodford Stephens, 83, occurred suddenly at the Drew Nursing Home, Sackville, on Wednesday, February 27, 2008. Born in Midgic, Harley was the son of the late Roy and Helen (Hicks) Stephens. Harley was a hard worker, having worked at Atlantic Wholesalers, at Mount Allison University, and independantly as a farmer throughout his life. He enjoyed gardening, harness racing, and spending time at his cottage. Harley will be sadly missed by his wife of 61 years, Irene (Crossman); three sons, Gordon (Irene Flanagan) of Rexton, N.B., Boyd and Dale, both of Sackville; one daughter June (David) Hicks of Sackville; four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, Harley was predeceased by two children in infancy; two sisters, and a brother. The remains have been cremated under the care and supervision of Jones Funeral Homes, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville (364-1300). As per the request of the family, there will not be any visitation or memorial service. Donations in Harley’s memory can be made to the charity of one’s choice.
