Passed away recently at her home in Kelowna, B.C. Born in Kingston, Ontario, on October 17, 1952, she was the daughter of Dr. Ruth L. Stanley of Sackville, N.B. and the late Hon. George F.G. Stanley. She is survived by her mother; her sisters Della Stanley and Laurie Stanley-Blackwell; her niece Ruthie Blackwell and nephew Tom Cromwell. After graduating with a BSc from Dalhousie University and a BEd from St. Mary’s University, she taught school in Alberta.Later, she shifted careers, becoming an accountant. She received her MBA from the University of Edinburgh and had recently completed her qualifications as a forensic accountant. After working in the private sector and then for the federal government, she moved to Kelowna where she was a member of the Business School faculty at Okanagan University and College, subsequently Okanagan College. She loved teaching, eating lobster and travelling, especially in Africa. She will be sadly missed by family, colleagues, students and friends, especially Pauline, Julie, Trevor, Yana, Val and Margarita. At her request, she has been cremated and her ashes will be buried at a later date in Sackville, N.B.
