SACKVILLE, N.B. - Peacefully , on Friday, May 4, 2007, Verna G Saunders went home to be with her Lord. Born in Mount View to the late Arthur and Florence (Sweeney) Hicks, Verna lived her life in Sackville, working as secretary at Enterprise and Fawcett Foundries and the CNR. She was a member of Main Street Baptist Church, a life member of the I.O.D.E. and a St. John Ambulance volunteer. She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Myrna (Stephen) Crowe, Sackville; her sister, Beryl Kaine of Sackville; and sister-in-law, Ruby Hicks of Moncton; nieces, Sharon and Sheila. Verna was predeceased by her husband Lorne in 1967; and siblings Helen, Louise and Ormond. Arrangements were entrusted into the care of Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville (364-1300). A memorial service was held on Monday, May 7, at the Jones Funeral Home followed by a reception. Burial took place in the Sackville Cemetery.
