Waugh Diane

R. Diane Waugh died peacefully in Sackville, New Brunswick on Monday Oct. 20, 2008 following a long and courageous battle with cancer. Diane was born and raised in Ottawa, a loving daughter of the late Ludger and Doris (Burns) Parent. Diane enjoyed a long and successful career in the federal government in Ottawa with the Agricultural Dept. as well as the St. Lawrence Seaway Authority and, in her later years, in Moncton with Transport Canada (Airports). She is survived by her beloved husband of 21 years, John; sister, Judy (Marc Rouleau) and brother Armand “Butch” (Lorraine Potvin). She was a devoted and cherished aunt to Brent (Suzie) Rouleau, Lisa (Corey) Rouleau, Chantal (Brant) Pethick, Ron (Carol) Parent, Amanda (Mark) Kearns. A very special great aunt to Brayden, Cailyn, Ryder, Brendan and Rose. Diane loved her life in the Maritimes with John. Her kindness, generosity and big, beautiful smile will be missed by all those who knew her. Diane’s remains have been entrusted into the care and supervision of Jones Funeral Home in Sackville, (68 Bridge Street). Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. today (Wednesday, Oct. 22) with the funeral service at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 23, with Father Allison Carroll officiating. A private family internment and special service will follow in The Notre-Dame Cemetery in Ottawa. Donations in memory of Diane may be sent to the Sackville Memorial Hospital Foundation. Special thanks to the doctors and staff at the Sackville Memorial Hospital for their professional and caring services.
