Wiletta Goodwin

While surrounded by family, Wiletta Goodwin, age 72, of Baie Verte, passed away peacefully at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Friday, July 25, 2008. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Velda Dulenty. Wiletta graduated from the University of Moncton with Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education Degrees. She then became a school teacher in the Port Elgin area for 36 years. She was a member of the NBTA and the Tidnish Bridge United Church. Wiletta loved the outdoors, camping and listening to bluegrass. She will be deeply missed by her husband of 51 years, Bill of Baie Verte; four daughters, Helen (John) Chapman, Tidnish, Nancy (Kevin) Beckwith, Tidnish, Joyce (John) Baxter, Tidnish, and Natalie (David) MacQuarrie, Tidnish; a brother Merton Simpson (Lorraine), Murray Corner; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son David in 1979 and special sister Merena Walton. Arrangements were entrusted to the Jones Funeral Home, 3 West Main St., Port Elgin, NB, (506-538-2241) from where visitation took place on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service was held on Monday, July 28, 2008 at 2 p.m. from the Jones Funeral Home, Rev. Dr. James Shaffner officiating. Burial in the Baie Verte Cemetery.
