Helen Melissa Beharrell, age 93, passed away suddenly at home. She went to join our Lord and the following family members; her parents, William and Margaret Smith, her husband, Roland, sisters, Dorothy, Madeline, Eleanor and brother Eldon. She is survived by her daughter, Marie (Garnet) Strang of Prince George, BC, son, Wayne of Amherst; foster daughters, Ruth and Dorothy O'Brien; grandchildren, Laural Strang of Vancouver, Jeremy (Rhonda) Strang of Thorsby, Alberta; great grandchildren, Kyria, Shyler and Julian; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends attended a graveside service at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at the Amherst Head Cemetery, Beecham Road. Following the burial, a reception and a Celebration of Helen's life was held Tuesday at 11:30 at Furlong Jones Funeral Home, 68 Church Street, Amherst (667-8777).
