He is also survived by his father Roger McInnis of Amherst, his sister Jane McInnis of Amherst, his mother Alice McInnis of Hubbards, his son Corey Helm of Ontario, Mother and Father in Law, Isabelle and Phillip Brown and Brother and Sister in Law, Peter and Teresa Brown and family. He will also be missed by family Sharon and Clint Ward, along with Deb and Mark Bishop from Maine. He will also be missed by many many more, especially, old and dear friends Ron Gogan and Darren Carter, good friends Steven Fage, Bev Connell, Cliff MacKenna, Scott Dixon, Kenny Thompson, Fred Travis, Brian Waugh, Shirley and Bob Mack, Dr. Jillian Lawrence (our guardian angel). "Thanks for being there guys", and I know he would not want me to forget the crew at the Truro Sale Barn and Staff at Double C. Jim has farmed all his life and next to his family, it was his passion. It was hard to find someone who didn't know him. He was well respected by his peers both personal and business. He was known as a hard worker and great family man. Born into a farming family he began operating on his own at the age of 14, buying and selling livestock before even having a license. At the point of his passing he and his family were known as having the largest beef farm in all the Maritime Provinces. Jim and Lorelei started their dream farm 20 years ago on the hill in Nappan, which started out with one barn and an old farmhouse. Through hard work, they built their small beginnings into what it has become today. For the last 4 years, Jim also operated the Maritime Beef Station in Nappan. Bernadette Hoeg, Secretary at the test station once said "that if anyone had a question you could call on Jim, as he was like a computer when it came to the cattle industry". Jim was predeceased by his Grandparents Charles and Ada McInnis and Jim and Kay Chapman. God knew the kind of person he was and that he didn't deserve to go through any more pain so he laid his hand on his shoulder and gently whispered "It's time to come home". So we won't say goodbye to my husband and our dad, we will just say until we meet again in heaven. We love you and we miss you so much. Love Lorelei, Jacy, Cheyenne, James and Miranda. xoxoxoxo Arrangements have been entrusted to the Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St., Amherst, NS (902-664-1080).
