Lawrence A. “Duckie”?Taylor, 75, of North Sydney, and formerly of Parrsboro passed away Monday, December 1, 2008 at Northside General Hospital, North Sydney. Born in Parrsboro, he was the son of the late Carl and Elsie (Phinney) Taylor. He was a retired carpenter and stevedore. He is survived by his wife, the former Violet Scott; daughters, Diane Forrest (Willis), Sydney Mines; Anna Marie Clarke (Chris), Parrsboro; Debbie Taylor, North Sydney; son, Terry (Theresa), Parrsboro; a sister, Beatrice Durant, Parrsboro; brothers, Allan (Shane); Gary (Tammy); Cleveland, all of Parrsboro; 8 grandchildren, Burton Pettis, Leonard Forrest, James Forrest and Christopher Forrest; Brittany Clarke and Justin Clarke; Travis Taylor and Tiffany Taylor; 4 great grandchildren, Faith, Victoria, Zachary and Katie. He was predeceased by a son, James; a sister, Jean Spencer; brothers, Roland, Robert, Verland, Gerald, Fred, Ralph. Funeral service was held 2 p.m. Saturday, December 6, 2008, at Smith’s Funeral Home, Parrsboro, Rev. Greg Doyle officiating. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
