Marion E. Dean, 90, of Diligent River, Cumberland County passed away Monday, January 26, 2009 at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan. Born in Diligent River, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Blanche (Spicer) Dean. Early in her life, she taught school in Diligent River. Marion was an avid gardener and a talented seamstress. In her later years, she enjoyed reading the Chronicle Herald each day from cover to cover, having a particular interest in provincial and local politics. She was a dedicated fan of George Strait. Marion was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by her brother, Marvin. Visitation 12-2 p.m. on Thursday, January 29, 2009 at Smith's Funeral Home, Parrsboro, where funeral service will follow at 2 p.m., Rev. Greg Doyle officiating.
