Mark Corbett

Mark (Buddy) Edmund Corbett age 76 of Amherst passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan, N.S. Born in Valley, Colchester Co., he was the son of the late John P. and Verna May (Bennett) Corbett. Mark was a long time employee of CN Rail and Via Rail. He loved music and entertaining and was an active member of the Knights of Columbus council 2916 for over 50 years and was a volunteer with the AmherstCredit Union and Amherst Co-op. He is survived by his wife Roberta (Legere), daughters Lynn Corbett of Halifax and Karen (Bruce) Dodge of Dartmouth, grandchildren Brian and Alexa Dodge; sisters Eileen Corbett and Rita (Bob) Harrop, both of Halifax and brothers Bill (Mary) and Burke (Joan) both of Dartmouth. Mark was predeceased by sisters, Joan Marie Corbett, Edith Levangie and Connie Levangie and brother John. Visitation was held on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with parish prayers at 8 p.m. all in Campbell's Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst (667-9906). The funeral Mass was celebrated at the Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Amherst on Friday, July 4, 2008 at 2 p.m. with Father David MacDonald officiating, followed by a reception in the Church Hall. Donations in Mark's memory may be made to the Palliative Care Unit of Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre or the Parkinson's Foundation of Nova Scotia. www.campbells-amherst.ca
