Shirley Marie (Oulton) Streatch passed away at the Moncton City Hospital on Thursday, October 16, 2008. She was born in Point de Bute, NB, July 16, 1942, daughter of the Late Arthur and Beatrice (Copp) Oulton. Shirley was educated in the same area and spent five years teaching school. She then stayed home to raise her family and returned to work at the Maritime Conference Office of The United Church of Canada for the next 22 years. She retired in July, 2007. She enjoyed camping, reading, and dancing and was a member of the Maple Sugar Cloggers for many years. Her family was her greatest love. She will be sadly missed by her husband of 43 years, Robert; her children, Robin, Amherst, Christine (Jason) Sorensen, Riverview, Darren (Marion, Charlottetown; her grandchildren Kyle (Lacey) Remington, Amherst, Nick Remington, Amherst, and Aurora Streatch, Charlottetown; her great grandchild Phoenix Remington, Amherst. She is also survived by her brother, David (Harriet), Jolicure, and their family; and her sister, Ginny (Garey) Foley, Charlottetown and their family; her sister-in-law Sally (George) Williams of Toronto; and sister-in-law, Beulah (Percy) McNulty of Moncton. She was predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Beatrice Oulton. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville (506-364-1300) where visitation took place on Sunday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. A memorial service as held at the Sackville United Church on Monday, October 20, 2008 at 11 am, Rev Jane Doull officiating. Burial was in the Point De Bute Cemetery.
