Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Wednesday, April 1, 2009, Harold Stanford of Old Shop, aged 83 years. Leaving to mourn his loving wife and best friend Ida; sons, Irving (Elizabeth) and Reg (Barbara); grandchildren Scott (Jennifer), Marianne (Craig), Carolyn (Jeff), Nancy (Brad) and Alaina; great grandchildren Aiden, Gracie, Allyson, Justin and Garry. He is also lovingly remembered by sisters Inez (Wallace), Gertrude (Jim) and brother Arch (Florence); sisters-in-law Bessie and Martha, as well as a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation for family and friends on Thursday, April 2 from 2-5 p.m. and 7 - 9:30 p.m.; on Friday, April 3, from 2 - 10 p.m.; and on Saturday, April 4, from 10 a.m. to noon. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 4 from St. Barnabas Anglican Church in Blaketown at 2 p.m. Interment to follow at Holy Spirit Cemetery, Old Shop.
