It is with great sadness that we the family announce the sudden passing of Patrick MacKinnon on Saturday, April 4, 2009, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late Euphemia (MacDonald) and W.J. MacKinnon.
Patrick was employed with CN Rail from 1961-91 until his retirement. He was a quiet, gentle man who will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his children, Heather Yorke and Darryl MacKinnon, both of Sydney; sister, Mary Arnott; brothers, William (Tina), Charles (Lelani), Dan, Allan; his cousin, Donald MacKinnon, Sydney as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Anne Marie (Lefort) MacKinnon (2007), two brothers, John Bernard and John Roger.
There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 8 at St. Joseph’s Church, Cabot Street, Sydney, with Fr. Gerald Dunphy officiating.
