It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our dear mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother, Pearl, on Saturday, April 4, 2009, peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Sydney, she was the daughter, of the late Sadie (Dawe) and George Harris.
Pearl was a wonderful mother, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was an avid bingo player. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Pearl is survived by her companion, Edward Brookman; her daughters, Sadie Grant, Sydney, Beverley Keough (Earl), Ontario, Jacqueline Murphy (Michael), Ontario, Patricia Jolie (Steve), Sydney, Shirley Jolie (Arthur), Sydney. She is also survived by her sister, Beverley (Gary) Cooper; brothers, Reginald, Winston (Glena), David (Colleen), Byron (Anne) and Barry (Doreen); 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and one on the way, as well as many nieces and nephews; and her dog, Jake, whom she loved dearly.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her children, William Gaston, Christina and Marilyn, sister, Shirley, and brother, Bill.
Visitation will take place Tuesday, April 7 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney. Memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, April 9 at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home Chapel, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney.
