The death of Helen Marie Lomax of Little Lepreau, N.B., wife of the late Basil C. Lomax, occurred on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at the Saint John Regional Hospital.
Born in Cape Breton, N.S. on July 23, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Angelo and Anna (Nemis) DeGiobbi. Helen was very devoted to her family and loved family get-togethers. Those who lived away she spoke to over the phone and always returned home to Cape Breton to visit as often as possible.
Survived by her children, Wesley A. (Linda) Lomax of Little Lepreau and Jackie (Peter) Pembroke of New Waterford; four siblings, Leno (Pauline) DeGiobbi, Guido (Sylvia), Anthony (Barb) DeGiobbi and Sally (Albert) Durando, all four of Cape Breton; sister-in-law, Chris DeGiobbi of Halifax, N.S.; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her parents, her husband; a brother, Louis DeGiobbi and an infant sister, Melvina.
Resting at Brenan’s Bay View Select Community Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Rd., Saint John (506) 634-7425 with visiting at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and visiting at Bethany Independent Baptist Church, Little Lepreau on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from Bethany Church on Thursday, April 9, 2009 at 2 p.m. Interment will be in Little Lepreau Cemetery.
