Dear Mammie
‘You would talk on the phone for hours and hours,
Giving prayers to friends like bouquets of flowers.
We are all richer for having known you my dear,
It is so hard to believe you are not here.
We checked our messages every day
And there was your voice
‘Call Mammie’, you would say.
We wish that we could call you,
We wish you would answer,
We wish that we could have
Just one more day to let you know,
You are loved and you will be missed.
Rest in peace, our dear Mammie.
