Olive passed away peacefully at her residence in Saskatoon on Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at the age of 97 years. Olive is survived by her daughter, Diane (Lyle) Mallett and her stepsons ("the boys"), Chester (Wilma) Beddome, Edward (Loreen) Beddome and Calvin (Esther) Beddome. Olive is also remembered by her 13 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 8 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Olive was predeceased by her husband Harry, stepdaughter, Dorothy (Andy) Corrigal and her twin brothers, David (1928) and John (2004) Furmston. Olive immigrated to Canada in 1926 from England and spent her married life at Red Deer Hill (near Prince Albert, SK). Olive spent the past 23 years in Saskatoon, the last 10 of which she lived at Eamer Court. She lived her life to the fullest and all her family benefited from her practial and common sense attitude towards life. Her family and friends will miss visiting over a cup of tea and will find a void in their lives with her passing. Olive had a final wish for all of her family: "Long life and much happiness to all my dear people". Special thanks to the Eamer Court, Pilot Project and to everyone who helped Olive during these past few months. In lieu of flowers, donations to Kinsmen Telemiracle, Box 83000, Saskatoon, SK, S7K 9S1 or Jubilee Residences Inc., 2202 McEown Avenue, Saskatoon, SK, S7J 3L6. A service will be held at Saint George's Anglican Church 1104 - Fourth St East, Prince Albert, SK at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 6, 2009, officiated by The Rev. Dr. David Smith. Arrangements have been entrusted to Prairie View Chapel & Crematorium, 242-7884.
