ELLERMAN: Kay, October 14, 1910 - April 6, 2009 of Swift Current, SK, went to be with her Lord and Saviour on April 6, 2009, in Calgary, AB, at the age of 98 years. She is lovingly remembered by her five grandchildren, Judy (Don), Barb (Ron), Bob (Cheryle), Don (Janet), Mark (Noreen); her 13 great grandchildren; and 5 great great grandchildren. She is also survived and lovingly remembered by her sister, Helen Simonson; brother, Bill (Vivian) Funk; sister, Eva Larter; and many nephews and nieces. Kay was predeceased by her husband Harold; her daughter Anna (Pelzer); and her son-in-law Henry Pelzer; as well as 3 brothers Abe, Pete and Johnnie; and 4 sisters Agnes, Stella, Edina and Leona. Kay spent the majority of her life in Swift Current, where she owned 5 restaurants. Four of them were called "Kay's Lunch" and her fifth was called "Kay and Harold's Place." You always got a wonderful home cooked meal with her homemade bread and no one made pies like Kay. Kay had a great relationship with the RCMP Detachment and she loved to have them come in for a cup of coffee (which was always free) or a meal and a visit with her. Kay loved Jesus and faithfully attended the Full Gospel Church. Her home was always open to the missionaries and evangelists who came to town and needed a place to stay. Kay will always be loved and greatly missed. An interment service was held at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, April 14, 2009, at the Mount Pleasant Burial Park in Swift Current, SK, with a memorial service following at 1:30 PM at the Full Gospel Church located at 72 - 4th Avenue NE in Swift Current, SK.
