McLean, Marilee Heather
"Every Day is a Gift"
Surrounded in the love of her family and friends, Marilee Heather McLean of New Maryland, NB, cherished daughter of Dwain and Joan McLean, passed from this earth on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 following a brief yet courageous battle with cancer.
Marilee, born July 5, 1971, brought joy to all who knew her. She changed life perspectives and challenged us all to see every day as a gift. She enjoyed her family most of all. She delighted in her work at both the Provincial Archives and Headmistress. Other interests included her church family at Corbett Avenue Wesleyan, watching sports, and the love of children.
Marilee held many roles - precious daughter, beautiful big sister, adored Aunt "Meme," dear niece and cousin, faithful friend, helpful nursery attendant, dedicated employee, joyful choir member.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by three sisters: Suzanne and Matthew Maxwell (Easton, ME), Vicki and Mark Thompson (Bristol, NB), and Erica McLean and John Mullaly (Toronto, ON); her nephews and nieces: Aidan, Liam and Brenna Maxwell, Andrew, Jacob and Eva Thompson; several aunts, uncles and cousins and numerous friends. She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Berton and Lily Gaunce (Doaktown, NB), her paternal grandparents, Frank and Mae McLean (Hartland, NB), and uncle, Douglas Gaunce (Fredericton, NB).
Funeral arrangements are under the care of York Funeral Home with times of visitation planned at the Corbett Avenue Wesleyan Church on Friday, April 2, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A service celebrating her life will be held at Fredericton First Wesleyan Church, Duncan Lane, Saturday, April 3, 2010 at 2 pm with Rev. John Symonds officiating. Interment will follow at 6:30 pm in the Upper Waterville Community Cemetery near Hartland, NB.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Corbett Avenue Wesleyan Church Nursery Memorial Fund, the Chalmers Foundation for the beautification and furnishing of the sitting area on 4SW (www.chalmersfoundation.com), or a charity of the donor's choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
