MacDonald (Haggart) Christena Brown, 92, of Halifax, formerly of Thorburn, passed away April 1, 2010 in the Palliative Care Unit, Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Since December, she was a resident of High Crest Place, New Glasgow.
Born in Thorburn, she was a daughter of the late Everett and Narcissa (McCoull) Haggart. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a member of H.P. MacKeen Manor Association and Calvin Presbyterian Church, Halifax and a long time member of the former Prentice Sisters LOBA, Thorburn. She enjoyed bus tours, card games and bingo, but was happiest when spending time with family.
She is survived by daughters Barbara (John) Palmer, Thorburn, Sheila (Wade) MacDonald, Dartmouth, Marsha (Alan) Pink, Halifax. Sons-in-law Graham Bowser, Halifax and Fred Jenkins, New Glasgow, 9 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by husband Clifford, daughters Lillian Bowser, Gloria Jenkins, sisters Edith, Alice, Mary, Lena, Margaret and brother, Lee.
Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 Saturday, April 3 at H.W. Angus Funeral Home. Funeral Monday, April 5 at 11 am from Union Presbyterian Church, Thorburn, Rev Jeff Lackie officiating. Burial will be in Thorburn Cemetery.
