DELANEY, Aubrey Patrick – 79, Central Onslow, passed away peacefully Monday, April 13, 2009 in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born September 26, 1929 in Truro, he was a son of the late Roderick and Annie (Smith) Delaney. Aubrey spent his life working in the forest industry and farming. He truly enjoyed his animals, especially Buster, Kitty and Tom. Sitting in his rocking chair and telling stories of the old days was great entertainment to friends and family who dropped in to visit. Aubrey was a great brother and uncle and will be greatly missed by family and friends. Aubrey is survived by his brothers, Charles and Lorrain, Onslow Mountain; sisters, Joyce (Arnett) Marchbank, Debert; Theresa Glass, Onslow Mountain; nieces, Sherri (Donald) Smith, Debert; Vimy (Duncan) Glass, Truro; Annie (Kim) Langille, Tatamagouche; nephews, Arnett (Denise) Marchbank, Victoria, British Columbia; Thomas Marchbank, Truro; Charles Marchbank, Tatamagouche; many cousins. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Roland Fraser Delaney; brother-in-law, Brian Glass. Aubrey’s wishes for a quiet graveside service will be honoured 2 p.m., Monday, May 2, 2009 at Bible Hill Cemetery, Warren Drive, Bible Hill. All are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations in Aubrey’s memory to Canadian Diabetes Association or a charity of choice are welcomed.
