Ivy Elizabeth Morrison (nee Campbell), aged 90 years, passed away at the QEII Health Sciences Center, Halifax Nova Scotia surrounded by her loving family.
Ivy was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and in her granddaughters own words, “Nanny, you are the best great-grandmother in the whole world.†Everyone went to ‘Ivy’s’ for the best apple pies in Cape Breton. In her house you never went hungry and were always sure to get a good cup of tea.
Ivy is survived by her husband of 59 years, Duncan; her only daughter, Janie Leon (Brian); brothers, Douglas Campbell (Lily) and Cecil Campbell; two grandchildren, Amy and Paul; two great-grandchildren, Valarie and Jocelyn; brothers-in-law, Clifton Christie and Francis (Mary Lou) Morrison; sister-in-law, Isabel Mancini and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, Murdock and Annie (nee Lewis) Campbell; sisters, Marguerite, (the late Henry) Clements, Marion (the late Humber) Gentile and Frances Christie; sister-in-law, Ruby; and mother and father-in-law, Angus and Mary Jane (Rudderham) Morrison.
Accommodating her wishes, Ivy was cremated. Visitation will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Thursday from 1-3 p.m. followed by a memorial service in the chapel with Rev. Fred Rhymes and Rev. Val Rhymes officiating. Interment in St. Marks Cemetery.
