It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Nelson Burgoyne at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Sydney Mines, he was the son of the late Nelson and Dolly (Townsend) Burgoyne.
Nelson is survived by his wife, Felicia (Davis); son, Nelson; daughter, Felicia, both of Sydney Mines. He is survived by sisters, Dorothy (Stephenson), Sydney Mines, Jacqueline, British Columbia; brothers, Freddy and Kenny, both of Ontario.
He was predeceased by sisters, Madge and Theriza.
Before his retirement, Nelson was employed as an electrician with the Cape Breton Regional School Board. He was an avid ham radio operator (VE1 GO)
In keeping with his wishes, there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the care of Fillmore and Whitman Funeral Home, Sydney Mines. Interment of the ashes will take place at a later date.
