It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our loving sister, mother and grandmother, Mary Baker, on Tuesday April 14, 2009, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, surrounded by her devoted family.
Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Victor and Jeanette (Aucoin) Hareguy.
Mary enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, going for long drives.
She loved to sing and spent her pastime playing darts.
Mary is survived by her children, Elizabeth ‘Liz’ Baker, Calgary, and Mark (Sheila) Baker, Howie Centre, her two precious grandsons, Ethan and Liam.
She is also survived by her sister, Joan MacDonald, Sydney, brothers, Tommy and Jimmy Hareguy, both of Sydney, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Arthur ‘Buddy’ Baker.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place Thursday April 16,2009 from 6-9 p.m. at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney.
Funeral memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Friday April 17, 2009 at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Sheldon Chant officiating. Interment will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
