It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gertrude “Gertie†Green on Sunday, April 5, 2009 at St. Paul’s Hospital in Saskatoon. Gertie was born and raised in Prince Albert. She and her husband Jack raised their family in Prince Albert and spent summers at Emma Lake, a place she dearly loved. Her kindness, generosity and hospitality will be remembered by all who knew and loved her. Gertie is survived by her sons Richard (Sandra) of Edmonton and grandchildren Lori and Cameron of Edmonton; John (Gwen) of Prince Albert and granddaughters Janice (James) Dobchuk of Eden Prairie, Minnesota and Staci (Rob Rossi) of Miami, Florida; David (Chris) of Prince Albert and grandchildren Jamie (Steve) Tillmanns of Prince Albert and Michael (Mindy) of Prince Albert; as well as 9 great grandchildren; her sisters-in-law Rita Atkinson of Edmonton and Betty (John) Mahon of Nokomis, Florida and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Her husband John Ross (Jack) Green predeceased her in 1998. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 16, 2009 at St. George’s Anglican Church, 1104 – 4th Street East, Prince Albert, SK with The Reverend David Smith officiating. A private family interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to Charity of Donor’s Choice.
