On April 14, 2009 Velma McCrea passed away after a valiant struggle. She was sustained in her passing by her children, Marilyn McCrea, Judy Julseth (Gary), Richard McCrea (Nancy), and Brenda McCrea; niece Arlene Cupples and nephew Wayne Anthony. She is survived as well by her sister-in-law Kate Whiteman (Adrian), brother-in-law, Eric McCrea, son-in-law Gary Patterson (Evelyn); and beloved grandchildren, Scott Patterson (Carrie), Jennifer Dickie (Jeff), Kevan Julseth (Carmen), Brian Julseth (Cherise), Shane Julseth, Jodi McCrea, and Erin McCrea. Great grandchildren, Ashlie (Dale), Cassandra, Samantha, William, Kiarra, Alyssa, Destiny, Tegan, Isaac, Nathaniel, Jaden, Taylor, Autumn, Caleb, Dakota, and great-great granddaughter Natalie. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Velma was predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert McCrea, parents Richard and Margaret Anthony, her sisters, Madeline Tetreau, and brother-in-law Alex; Florence Cupples and brother-in-law Jim; and brothers, Richard; Harold and sister-in-law Jean; Lorne and sister-in-law Muriel. A Celebration of Velma’s life will be held at Minto United Church on Monday April 20, 2009 at 1:30 pm. Reverend John Carley will officiate. Memorialization will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations may be made in her name to the Palliative Care Program of the Five Hills Health District, 455 Fairford St.E., Moose Jaw, S6H 1H3, or to the Sask.
