Passed peacefully away at the QEII Health Sciences Center, Halifax, in the company of her family. Predeceased by husband Roy Cole June 12, 1998; son Butch November 25, 1992; granddaughter Autumn Rose Michelle April 6, 2008; and brother Bill Baker. Leaving to mourn sons: Tim (Karen), Larry (Halifax); daughter Diana (David) of St. John’s, NL; grandchildren: Terri (Josh) Curwin (Mt. Uniacke, NS) and Toni of St. John’s, NL, Timmy and Julie and great-grandson Austin, all of NS. Also leaving to mourn mother Emily Baker (Goulds, NL); brothers: Ron (Betty), Doug (Peggy), Fred (Louise), Bob (Charmaine), Wayne (Sandra), Don, Rick; sisters: Judy (Tom), Shirley (John), Bev, Linda (Eldon); and a very large number of relatives and friends. At Joan’s request, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association. Cremation has taken place at Halifax. A Ceremony will be held in August with interment to follow at St. Matthew’s Cemetery in Goulds.
