Roddie Thomas Bernard
INDIAN BROOK - Roddie Thomas Bernard, 44, of Indian Brook passed away Friday, April 17, 2009 at work. Born in Lynn, Mass., USA, he was the son of the late John and Annie Mae(Cremo) Bernard.
Roddie operated the family grocery and tobacco store under the name of MICMAC GROCERIES.
He is survived by ex wife Sherry (Hickey) Bernard; daughter Kayla; brothers John, David (Helen); and special nephew, John Harnish all of Indian Brook;
sisters, Elizabeth (Ron) of Halifax; Darlene (Darryl) of Indian Brook; aunts: Annie Paul, Gloria Bernard, Pat Bernard and Mary Lou Bernard, all of Indian Brook; Beverly Gould of Wycocomaugh; and Gladys Stevens of Eskasoni; Diane Bernard of Maine; several nieces and nephews; Godchildren, Alison Michael and Sharon Paul; special friend, Sheila Burris.
He was predeceased by a sister, Gloria Francis; and brother Gordon; uncles: Martin, Doug, Bill Bernard, and Roddie Cremo.
Visitation will be held Monday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Ettinger Funeral Home, Main Street, Shubenacadie, and Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, April 21, 2009, at 2 p.m., at St. Catherine's R C Church, Indian Brook, Fr. Tom Kurudeepan, OMI officiating. Burial will take place in the Community Cemetery.
