Passed peacefully away at Masonic Park Nursing Home, Saturday, April 18, 2009, Helen (Nellie) Duggan, aged 93 years. Formerly of Melrose, Trinity Bay and St. John’s. Predeceased by her husband Daniel Duggan. Leaving to mourn four children Phil Duggan (Sharon), Elaine Duggan (Malcolm), Dennis Duggan (Lynn), Elizabeth Matthews (Toby); sister Genevieve Logan (San Francisco); ten grandchildren Peter Duggan (Jennifer), Elaine Cook (David), Ainsley Higgins (Michael), Garth Mercer (Gabriella), Craig Mercer, Niall Duggan, Cameron Duggan, Cailean Duggan (Melissa), Courtney Collins (Greg), Daniel Matthews; five great-grandchildren Victoria, Michael, Erin, Justin, Gabriel; devoted sister-in-law Mary Donovan and a large circle of friends and relatives. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road with visitation on Thursday, April 23, 2009 from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m., Friday 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place from the Basilica of St. John the Baptist on Saturday, April 25, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Topsail Road.
