Passed peacefully away on September 14, 2008, on her 79th birthday, surrounded by her loving family at her home in Burin. Left with fond and loving memories are her husband Gordon; daughters, Donna (Keith) Warren, Eleanor (Don) Penney, Mary (Keith) Lundrigan; seven grandchildren: Krista (Bob) Wiscombe, Karla (Kyle) Strong, Karen Warren, Susan (Scott) Vere-Holloway, Tom Penney, Tracie and Mark Lundrigan, Three great-grandchildren: Emily and Alex Wiscombe, Mason Strong; Sisters Mollie Laing, Donna Brake (George), Theresa McGurk, Brothers Heber McGurk (Harriet), Paul McGurk (Angela) and Special Sister-in-law Ellie Cheeseman, and other relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place. Visitation Wednesday, September 17 from 10 am to 9 pm at Serenity Funeral home. Funeral service to take place on Thursday, September 18 at 2 pm from Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Burin with inurnment at Holy Trinity Cemetery, Hodder's Point, Burin.
