Mary Victoria (nee Andrews) MacKay, 95, of Coxheath Road, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2009 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, after a brief illness.
Born in Coxheath, she was the daughter of the late Elias and Annie Andrews. She was a member of the United Protestant Church of Sydney River.
She will be deeply missed by her two daughters, Jean MacDonald, Coxheath and Shirley, (Harold ‘Curly’) Pennington, Coxheath; two granddaughters, Sheri Lynn and Carol Jean; four great-grandchildren, John, Glenn, Kevin and Victoria. Mary is also survived by one sister, Thelma Rudderham, Coxheath.
She was predeceased by her husband, Murdock; sisters, Edith, Pearl, Nina, Bernice, Edna, Lena and brothers, Murray, Alexander, Ainslie, Elmer and Ellis.
Visitation for the late Mary MacKay will be at Sydney Memorial Chapel Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, April 27, 2009, at the United Protestant Church of Sydney River with Rev. Dana Feltmate officiating. Interment will be in the Alfred Smith Cemetery at a later date.
