NEW GLASGOW / STELLARTON – Mary Catherine MacLean, age 93, New Glasgow, formerly Stellarton, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2009, in Valley View Villa, Riverton.
Born in Gairloch, she was a daughter of the late Hector and Georgina (Johnson) MacKenzie.
She is survived by her daughters, Maryln Taylor (Allison), Stellarton; Sandra Cameron (Andrew), Dartmouth; grandchildren: Pamela Jenkins (Todd), Pictou Landing; Michael Taylor, Halifax; Blair Cameron, Dartmouth; Kristen Guay (Philip), Eastern Passage and great-grandchildren, Bree, Korben and Brycen Jenkins. She is also survived by sisters, Florence MacDonald, Salem; Ethel MacCulloch, Guelph, Ont; brothers, Ian (Alice) MacKenzie, Millbrook and Hector (Eleanor) MacKenzie, Green Hill and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Alexander "Allie" MacLean; daughter Jean Lake and brothers, Johnson and Daniel MacKenzie.
Visitations will be held from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Saturday at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. Her funeral service will be held 2 o’clock Sunday from St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church (The Kirk Church), New Glasgow with Rev. Richard Sand officiating. Burial will be in Gairloch Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations in her memory may be made to St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Gairloch or to a charity of one’s choice.
