Passed peacefully away at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital on April 25, 2009, Cecil J. Goobie, aged 76 years. Predeceased by his wife Florence (nee Harnum), parents Charles and Stella; brother Charles and sisters Catherine Sprague and Agnes. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his sons, David and Glen, stepdaughters Sandra (George Parsons) and Audrey (Doug Russell) and step-son Sandy (Marie) Duffett, eight grandchildren; brothers Donald, Edward (Joan), Gilbert (Elizabeth), Gerald (Nancy), sisters Shirley (Frank) Greeley, Florence (John) Melee and Patricia as well as a large number of nieces and nephews. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road from 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday, April 27 and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, April 28. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 29 at 11 a.m. from the Carnell Memorial Chapel, 329 Freshwater Road. Inurnment to follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mr. Goobie’s memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke foundation or the Children’s Wish Foundation.
