REID, Norman Copp – 63, Truro, formerly of Masstown, passed away peacefully Sunday, April 26, 2009 in Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by his loving family. Born January 3, 1946 in Truro, he was a son of the late Harry and Annie (Copp) Reid. Norman worked at various service stations in the area and many will remember him from his last job at the Petro Can in Glenholme. Norman is survived by his daughter, Crystal; son, Clinton; one granddaughter, all of Halifax; brother, Arthur “Art†(Shirley), Kentville; sisters, Elva (Raymond) Irving, Bible Hill; Laura Reid, Truro; many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother, Bertram in infancy. We would like to thank the excellent staff at the Aberdeen Hospital, ICU and Palliative Care Unit, for the care they provided to Norman and his family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where the funeral service will be held 2 pm Tuesday, Reverend Don MacQueen officiating. Reception will follow. Interment will be held in Masstown Cemetery. Family flowers only. If so desired, donations in Norman’s memory to Parkinson Foundation or Palliative Care Unit, Aberdeen Hospital.
