Dora Gertrude Amon, 98, of the Shiretown Nursing Home, and formerly of Strathcona Place, Pictou, passed away April 26, 2009 in Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Green Hill, New Brunswick, she was a daughter of the late John & Annie (Cooper) Logan.
Dora was employed with Eaton’s, and was a member of the St. James Anglican Church, Pictou, as well as a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Before moving to the home nine years ago, she was a longtime resident of Strathcona Place, and was very active in the 50+ club for many years.
Surviving are her daughter, Ann (Walter) Saffert; granddaughter, Karen (Ward) Giroux; great grandson, Rory; all of Oakville, Ontario; niece, Donna Logan, New Glasgow; numerous other nephews, and nieces.
She was predeceased by her husband, Roy; sister, Francis Skidmore; brothers, Robert, Clarence, George, and Alan; one grandson.
Visitation will be held 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Thursday from St. James Anglican church, Pictou, with Rev. Bill White officiating. Burial will be in the St. James Cemetery.
