It is with sadness we announce the passing of Berneice MacLean, 86, of Smith Street, New Waterford, on April 26, 2009, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in New Waterford, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Ivy (Boldon) Gregor.
Berneice was a member of Calvin United Church, New Waterford. She was also a member of the choir and an active member of Calvin United UCW. At one time she was employed at Ferguson Law Office, the Majestic and Paramount Theatres, and the Value Center.
Surviving are daughter, Eileen (Martin) MacKinnon, Halifax; sons, Dave (Hinda), Antigonish, Thomas, at home; brother, Russell Gregor, Hamilton, Ont.; one grandson, Shaun, Edmonton, Alta.
Berneice was predeceased by her husband, George and one brother, Roy Gregor.
There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith St., New Waterford. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, April 30 in Calvin United Church with Rev. Duncan Roach officiating. Interment will be in Union Grove Cemetery, Scotchtown with a luncheon to follow at Calvin Hall.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Victorian Order of Nurses.
