Passed peacefully away at the Hoyles-Escasoni Complex on Saturday, April 25, 2009 after a lengthy illness, Gwendolyn Mary Bernadette Harvey, formerly of Portugal Cove at age 55 years.
Predeceased by her parents Joseph and Gwendolyn Harvey; sisters: Helen, Anne, Rose and Theresa; brothers: Michael, Joseph and Gordon. Leaving to mourn her loving husband of 23 years Guy Randell of St. John's; daughters: Tammy (Derrick) Byrne of Toronto and Tracey (Tony) Strickland of Blackfalds, Alta.; brothers: Donald of Portugal Cove and David of Toronto; special friend Denise Hibbs of Portugal Cove; also a large circle of nephews, nieces and friends. Special thanks to the staff of the Hoyles Home for their care and support. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road. Visitation from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday April 28, 2009 at 11 a.m. from Holy Rosary Church, Portugal Cove. Interment to follow in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Portugal Cove. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gwendolyn's memory may be made to the Alzheimer¹s Society.
