Mathew Kapustinsky, passed away at the Victoria Hospital, on Thursday, April 23, 2009. Mathew was born in the Strong Pine District to Magdeline and Ananny Kapustinsky, the first settler in the district. He worked hard on the farm from a very early age and continued on with various occupations of brick-laying, construction, farming, trucking, jail guard and caretaker at Meath Park School until he was forced to retire at the age of 63 due to health. Mathew is survived by his companion Harlean Cournoyer of 35 years; his children Greg (Lois) of Prince Albert and their 9 children, Mathew (Joanne) of Alberta and their 6 children, Lora (George) of Ontario and their 4 children; 7 great grandchildren; his sister Mary Wytoski of Oregon; step children Joe (Debbie) Cournoyer and their 4 children, Bill (Debbie) Cournoyer and their 4 children and Bev Hrenyk and her 2 children, and nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents Ananny and Magdeline Kapustinsky; 2 infant siblings; brother-in-law John Wytoski; step-son Bradley Saiville and step son-in-law Rod Hrenyk. Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 – 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK with Pastor Wayne Blize officiating. Private Family Interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 279 – 3rd Avenue N, Saskatoon, SK S7K 2H8 or the Victoria Hospital Foundation, 1200 – 24th Street West, Prince Albert, SK S6V 5T4.
