Passed peacefully away at Golden Heights Manor on April 28, 2009, John Reader Alexander age 87 years. Predeceased by parents, Julia and John Alexander, wife Joyce, sisters Grace (Moores), Christina May, Edith (Fowler), and Clarice (Tedesco); and brothers Douglas (Ena), and Albert (Joan). Leaving to mourn sister Margaret (Warren); brothers: Kenneth (Margaret) and Lloyd (Bessie), sons: Charles (Matilda), Paul (Karen), and Gordon (Shirley); six grandchildren: Alison and Lynn, Stefan and Meghan, Michelle and Susan; six great-grandchildren: Danette and Shawna, Zachary and Isaac, and Jaxon and Jayden and a large circle of relatives and friends. Resting at Strathie’s Funeral Home, Bonavista on Thursday and Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service to take place on Saturday May 2, 2009 at 2 p.m. from Memorial United Church, Bonavista. Interment to follow at Lookout Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
