BODDY, DIANNE “LINA” MARIE
Mrs. Dianne “Lina” Marie (Lajeunesse) Boddy, aged 64 years, born August first, 1944 in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan lost a courageous battle with cancer on April 29, 2009 in Edmonton, Alberta.
Being the oldest of nine children, Lina started working as a Nursing Aid at the tender age of 16, and married her first love, Gerald, in December 1962. She went on to raise four children while managing a store in Hudson Bay, Saskatchewan and working as a seamstress at Sears in Red Deer, Alberta. After moving from Saskatchewan to Alberta, she was able to experience life in Egypt and Libya before settling down at the lake in Pelican Point, Alberta. The one thing she held on to through all her moving from place to place was her passion for gardening, sewing, knitting and quilting.
Lina is predeceased by her father Patrick Lajeunesse and her brother Henry Lajeunesse.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband Gerald Boddy; children and in-laws: Darlene (Sheldon) Ede, Bonita (Darrell) Tegler, Daryl (April) Boddy, and Paula (Sly) Hotte; grandchildren: Carman Ede, Dylan Hotte, Whyatt Tegler, Alina Hotte and Rebecca Tegler; great-grandchildren: Jamie Ede and Josie Ede; loving mother Denise Lajeunesse; seven siblings: Hilda (Lawrence) Vermette, Luc (Yvonne) Lajeunesse, Rosalyn (Gary) Weinerstrom, Réjane (Gary) Wagner, Pierrette (Roger) Dansereau, Marie-Anne (Garth) Herzog, and Theresa (Les) Thomas; as well as nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 2, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. from the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Red Deer, Alberta with Rev. Victor Eze officiating. Inurnment followed in the Bashaw Cemetery.
