Passed peacefully away surrounded by his family and friends, age 57 years, after a courageous seven year battle with cancer. Predeceased by darling daughter Angela, father William Gillespie Sr. and sister Brenda LeDrew. Leaving to mourn his daughters: Andrea Gillespie, Allison (Charles) O’Keefe; “Pop’s boy” Caleb Gillespie-Hanlon; mother Mary Gillespie; brothers: Don (Patricia), Michael (Clarice), John (Cathy), Allan (Sandra); sisters: Betty (Ray) Snow, Catherine (Greg) Walsh, Paula (Neil) Anstey and Ann Marie Gillespie and Aunt Mary (Herb) Snow. Also his buddies John Bulger, Eric Stone and Cecil Squires, numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 73 Commonwealth Avenue, Mount Pearl on Sunday, May 3, 2009 from 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. and Monday, May 4th from 10 a.m. - 12 noon and 2 p.m. - 5 p.m. Funeral Mass to take place at Mary Queen of the World, Topsail Road on Tuesday, March 5th at 9:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
