STELLARTON – Phyllis Marie Nearing, 75, of Stellarton, died Saturday, May 2, 2009, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Sunny Brae, Pictou County, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Josephine (Carty) Campbell.
Phyllis was a resident of Stellarton for most of her life where she was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church.
She is survived by a brother, Frank (Jessie) Campbell, Stellarton; a sister, Eileen (Stan) Kemp, Mississauga, Ont; sister in-law, Irene (Ron) Christensen, Alma; many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Joe; sisters, Dorothy Jardine and Evelyn Smith.
Her remains will rest in the H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Home, Stellarton, for visiting from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday from Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church with Father Peter MacDonald officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Reception to follow in the parish hall.
