RIVER HEBERT, NS The death of Mary Henwood, occurred in her 103rd year at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Amherst, surrounded by her family.

Born in Springhill, she was a daughter of the late Alfred and Annie (Henwood) Quinn.

Mary was a loving and dedicated mother and wife, who enjoyed having her family around her and preparing many tasty treats for their pleasure. Mary took pride in her needle work, in particular her quilts. For many years she enjoyed camping and being out of doors, especially to fish for brook trout - this love of nature she passed on to many generation to follow her. She belonged to the St. Alban's Anglican Church in River Hebert where she was a member of the Choir, Guild and ACW for over 60 years. She was a life member of the Mayflower Rebekah Lodge #21 of Joggins for more than forty years, joining in 1940 and of which she was Past Noble Grand. She lived in River Hebert all of her adult life before moving to the Centennial Villa, Amherst in 1999.

She will be sadly missed by 2 daughters, Beth Pugsley, River Hebert and Barbara Belliveau, Shelburne; a son, Karl Wolfe, Dartmouth; 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren and a sister Rozie Chatfield, Springhill.

Predeceased by two husbands, Herman Wolfe in 1962 and Calvin Henwood in 1994, a son, Worrell; 2 grandchildren; a great grandchild; sisters, Violet, Grace, Sadie, Isabel, Lila and brothers, William, Alfred, John and Frank.Mary's remains have been entrusted into the care of the Furlong Jones Funeral Home, River Hebert (902-251-2877). Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at 2 pm, from St. Alban's Anglican Church, River Hebert, Rev. Marilyn Haugen - Strand officiating. There will be no visitation. Burial in the River Hebert Cemetery. Donations to the St. Alban's Anglican Church, or a charity of the donor's choice gratefully appreciated. Mary's family are grateful for the wonderful care provided to Mary by the staff of the Centennial Villa and the emergency department of CRHCC www.furlongjones.ca
