It is with great sadness that the family of the late Betsy Genevieve Coffin announce her peaceful passing after a brief stay at the Bay St. George Long Term Care Centre, Stephenville Crossing on Monday, February 2, 2009 at the age of 87 years. She will be sadly missed by four sons: Stanley Coffin of Grand Falls-Windsor, George Coffin (Shelly) of Fort McMurray, Alberta, Dean Coffin of Ontario, Glenn (Patsy) Coffin of Fort McMurray, Alberta, seven daughters: Bernice Hulan of Stephenville, Valetta (Sam) Alexander of Cold Brook, Rhonda (Ronald) Decker of Stephenville, Christine (Baxter) Keats of Glovertown, Beverly (Donald) Hatch of Spruce Grove, Alberta, Cindy (Roland) Hurtubise of Fort McMurray, Alberta, Peggy (Melvin) Harvey of Fort McMurray, Alberta, one sister, Alma Hewitt of St. John’s, 15 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and a large circle of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, George Coffin, brothers, Ralph Decker, George Decker and Jack Decker, sister, Jemima, grandson, Joshua Coffin. Friends may call at Russell’s Funeral Home, 57 Prince Rupert Drive, Stephenville on Wednesday and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will take place on Friday, February 6th at 2:00 p.m. at St. Augustine’s Interfaith Cemetery, Hansen Highway, Stephenville. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or donations to the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
