It is with great sadness that the family of the late Doris Mabel Hilliard announces her passing at the Interfaith Home For Seniors on Monday, September 22, 2008 at the age of 89 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, daughters: Joan (Donald) Bartlett of Corner Brook, Margaret ‘Peggy’ (Wilfred) Knee of Mount Pearl, Vera Hilliard of St. John’s, Roslyn (Arthur) Bennett of Corner Brook, Bonnie (Glen) Patey of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Deborah Hilliard of Scarborough, Ontario; sons: Robert ‘Bob’ (Patricia) of Bowmanville, Ontario, Jack (Gloria) of Corner Brook; grandchildren: Brian, Terry (Eileen), both of Dartmouth, Lewis (Anna Maria) of Chile, Daryl (Corrine) of Toronto, Margaret (Jim) of Mount Pearl, Stephen (Debbie) of St. John’s, Scott (Shauna) of Ontario, Natasha (Dean) of Corner Brook, Elizabeth-Ann (Kevin) of Corner Brook, Christopher (Heidi) of Vancouver, Patricia of Vancouver, Jeffrey (Laura) of Ontario, Robbie, Kevin both of Bowmanville, Rebekah, and Robert of Corner Brook; great-grandchildren: Jennifer, Christine, Evan, Loren, Christopher, Allan, Katlyn, David, Nathan, Melissa, Ronan, Eathan, Benjamin, Athena, Matthew, and Andrew; brother: Walter (Jean) of Scotland and Donald (Olive) of Lewisporte; and a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Graham; daughter in infancy; brothers: Alexander, George, Gerald; and sister: Elizabeth. Visitation will be held at Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road on Thursday, September 25, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, and on Friday, September 26, 2008 from 10 am – 12 noon. The funeral service will take place on Friday, September 26, 2008 at 2 pm from Salvation Army Citadel, Clarence St. with Major Kean officiating. Interment at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made to the Salvation Army Church Fund.
