It is with great sadness that the family of the late Edith May Alyward announce her peaceful passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Center in Grand Falls-Windsor on November 20, 2008 at the age of 94, after a short illness. Edith is predeceased by her husband Lawrence in 1986; parents Hubert and Beatrice White; brothers Thomas, Stephen, Victor, Adolphus and George; sisters Caroline, Janet, Greta and Pearl. Left with fond and loving memories are sons Don (Marg) of Corner Brook, NL, Roger of Grand Falls-Windsor; daughters Betty Roberts of Grand Falls-Windsor, and Joyce Rose (Russell) of Midland, ON. Also leaving to mourn are brother Roland (Vern) White of Mount Pearl, NL; three grandchildren - Anne (Mike) Young of Grand Falls-Windsor, NL, Mark Roberts of St. John’s, NL and Astra Rose of Midland, ON. Father William Hearn will conduct the funeral mass at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Monday, November 24, 2008. Interment will be at the Roman Catholic Cemetery in Grand Falls-Windsor. Pallbearers are Mike Young, Kieran Griffin, Gary Moore, Matt Grouchy, Harvey Beson and Fred Barry. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Mike Goodyear of Central Funeral Homes.
